Today my kindergarten, first, and second grade after school Spanish class at XYZ Elementary made Hispanic Suns with clay. I told them the Mexican Aztec legend of the sun and moon gods, and the Guatemalan Mayan legend of the moon god before we got started. I got the idea from an art teacher in the district who displayed her elementary students' Mexican suns at a Family Fine Arts Night. Here are some pictures of our progress so far, they still need to be fired and painted.
this is really cool - good job incorporating a story into the lesson, especially one that kids would find interesting.
