Dreams

So I graduated from college yesterday, packed up today, and came home for the summer. I found "Erin's Dream Notebook" under my bed while unpacking and cleaning my room, and have decided to share the entries since my second lesson plan was on Dali/dreams. Imagine the below in cursive middle schooler handwriting, in blue, black, and pink ink:

08-27-00 (almost 10 years ago, I would have been about 13)

Dear Notebook,

This is a new thing I'm starting. I read in a magazine that if you lay in the same position when you wake up and don't think about anything but remembering your dreams you'll be able to remember them very clearly. If that doesn't work I'll write down any dreams I can remember with moving or thinkin or whatever. So I hope it works!

Dear notebook,

I can't believe I haven't remembered a dream for a month. I always forget to lay in the same position and not think. On VH1 during Pop Up Video they said the average person has 20 dreams a night. Wow! Too bad we can't remember them. OK. This is what my dream was about. I dreamed that (one of my guy friends from high school) asked me out at school one day. This is weird cuz I haven't seen him forever, don't like him, and don't even think he's cute. But I guess I said yes. If you were in gym with the person you're going out with then you both switched gym shirts and wore each others since they had our names on them and so everyone would know you're a couple. I dreamed the girls and boys locker rooms were right across from each other. So I took my gym shirt off while standing in the door way and threw it to him while noone was lookin. Then he took his off threw it to me and put mine on. Weird huh? Then the dream stopped.

Dear journal,

Last night I had another dream. It was that all of the girls from my softball team were going on a plane together. This plane was really weird though cause the whole team could fit across in one row of seats. There was a big solid wall of glass that we could see out of. I guess the captain must drive from the back. No one knew how to work the seatbelts, TV, AC, seats, and where to put their stuff. I had to explain cause I was the only one that had rode a plane before. Weird huh?

Dear notebook,

Last night I had a dream that we were on a vacation in some town we'd never been in before. We were staying in a motel. Then mom had to go to the hospital because she had a baby girl. Then a few days later she had to go to the hospital again because she had a baby boy. The baby boy had some disease where he was really supposed to be a girl. Then a few days later into the trip she went to the hospital again and had another baby girl. Then the dream ended. Weird huh?
